Getting married to my wife, Celeste, in a simple wedding of just the two of us in Reno with hardly any money in our pockets and being best of friends after all these years, raising our five children, developing a successful business that had a lot to do with my wife, good timing, luck, wonderful leading employees where I listened to their wise advice, moving out of the Bay Area for good and living in the wine country north of Lodi where I grow 17 acres of walnuts with the help of my son, being able to travel to different countries, having my sons work for me in both the engineering and construction sides of my business, getting a get-away vacation home in the upper foothills where we enjoy a panoramic view of the foothills and Sierra mountains.

My business won the Small Business Administration's - Administrator's Award of Excellence in 1996. To have worked in the railroad industry for 44 years working for a Main Line Class I freight railroad, two railroad contractors and 31 years in ownership of a railroad construction company. Member for 32 years with the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association.

To have studied harder in high school but to still have enjoyed all the sports I played in high school and enjoyed playing in the band and orchestra. I should have taken my father's advise earlier to stop pursuing music in college and start studying business/engineering sooner.

Be considerate and kind, and others will usually treat you the same way. To try to live by the words written by Rudyard Kipling in the poem "IF" on how to be a man.
