Unquestionably, it is being wife to Howard and mother to our two great sons, Keith and Mark.

After a short stint in personnel management, in retail and as employment manager at two hospitals, I launched a second career in education. I loved being a middle school special education teacher, and thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Professional Development Academy, doing trainings for teachers in our district on the books I wrote and other special education and intervention strategies. My current position as school board president, has been very satisfying!

Denmark, Great Britain, France, Mexico, and China

I was fortunate to have been selected to be a part of a delegation of educators chosen to go to China to share our best educational practices with their educators and learn about education in China. My son, Keith, was selected also, so it was wonderful t

I am enjoying the most wonderful life. Early on, I developed a saying that has guided decisions I've made in my life: Look for "Opportunities for Fun!!" It may have gotten me into a little trouble occasionally in college, and lengthened the time it took to complete my BA, but I have lived that credo. My husband, who was my college boyfriend and partner in partying, and I are still having soooo much fun!! I choose to be happy and so the years since Campolindo have been great!!

A couple of years ago on New Year's Eve, I decided I was going to forgo my usual resolutions of "flossing more and losing weight." I never got beyond January in fulfilling those! Instead, I decided that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I would try to perform at least one random act of kindness. I'm proud to say that I have succeeded beyond my greatest hope. Sometimes it is something relatively big for someone, but often it is a series of small favors or kindnesses. While I know the people who are the benefactors appreciate my kindness, it also makes me feel so happy. I work to be a kind person and I'm pretty proud of that.

I suppose that it would have been better to be a more serious student during my first two years at that renown school of academic achievement, Chico State. ;-) but, truth is, I think I was a better special education teacher and certainly a more understanding board trustee because I had a couple of years when I couldn't let my parents see my report cards. Later, I got serious and applied myself and the speech I give to graduating seniors is that you may have a period of time when you "screw up" (I phrase it differently in the speech), but you can reapply yourself and achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

And, I'm still working on flossing more and losing weight!!!

Look for Opportunities for Fun and Choose to be Happy!!!
